What the Billing module covers

Billing in Sque handles the full time entry lifecycle — from AI-captured activity through to reviewed, approved, and exported time entries ready for invoicing.

Time entries

Manual entries for billable work. Set matter, rate, duration, and narrative.

Automated activities

Entries auto-captured from Ask Sque sessions, workflow runs, and meeting bots. Review and approve before they count.

Compliance checks

Outside counsel guidelines (OCG) run against each entry. Non-compliant items flag for review before export.

Creating a time entry

  1. 1

Open Billing and click New entry.

  2. 2

Select the matter and billing rate (the rate card from the client record loads automatically).

  3. 3

Enter duration and a narrative — or click Write with AI to generate one from the matter context.

  4. 4

Review any compliance flags (rate limits, block billing, etc.).

  5. 5

Click Save — the entry is in draft until you finalise it for invoicing.

AI narratives pull from the matter name, parties, and any associated Ask Sque session. Edit them before saving.

Exporting to billing software

Once entries are finalised, export to your practice management system in one click.

PlatformExport method
